International Students Participate in Student Immersion Program Program at Anandilal Podar Trust

The Anandilal Podar Trust recently hosted students and professors from East Tennessee State University, USA, for a unique cultural immersion programme. The programme was organised under “Destination Nawalgarh” which envisions to introduce foreign university students to the rich culture and heritage of India and especially the heritage of Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. In this two week programme twelve students and four professors did in depth research on the topic “Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship”

The students not only gained academy knowledge but also learnt and participated in traditional crafts like Pottery making, Puppetry, Rangoli making etc. They worked with the local artisans and also enjoyed Indian cuisine. During the programme, the students and professors also participated in a Heritage Walk of Nawalgarh in which they visited historical Havelis and Temples of Nawalgarh.
The team also visited the “Podar Haveli Museum” which provided information about the history and rich culture of Rajasthan to the students. In the closing ceremony of Destination Nawalgarh programme, the students gave presentations based on their research work. The trust dignitaries awarded certificates to the students and wished them good luck for their future endeavours.

Rishika Podar, Project Director of the programme said that this is a unique and first of its kind program in this region and this programme will promote Indian culture and tourism across the globe.

Mr. Rajiv ji Podar, Chairman of The Anandilal Podar Trust Nawalgarh, appreciated the excellent performance of the students and also expressed his commitment to organise such programs in the future as well.
