1947

In recognition of the contributions of Shri Anandilal to the community and at the suggestion of Shri Vallabhbhai Patel, citizens of Bombay installed a 7 feet statue at one of the most prestigious and prominent places in the heart of Bombay – the Hanging Gardens, the only statue of a Rajasthani in Mumbai till today.

Citizens established a Statue Circle at the entrance of the Town of Nawalgarh with a 7 feet statue of Shri Anandilal as a mark of respect to his memory.

1947

The State of Jaipur (now Rajasthan) bestowed the title of Raja (King) to Shri Ramdeo at a special Durbar held to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Maharaja Mansingh of Jaipur.

1952

Raja Ramdeo was the first Rajasthani to be appointed Sheriff of Bombay by the combined States of Maharashtra and Gujarat.

1955

Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the First President of India, specially visited Nawalgarh to perform the Raja Ramdeo Podar Smriti Bhawan opening ceremony – a large indoor and outdoor sports complex and cultural center.

1955

The President also unveiled the life-size statue of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, at Gandhi Park, built and maintained by the Trust as its gratitude to its first Chairman Trustee. He also unveiled two statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya which was installed on the campus of Podar College, Nawalgarh.

1963

Shri Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister of India graciously agreed to Dr. Ramnath hosting a Dinner at his House in Jaipur at the time of the Congress Annual Session.

1964

Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Prime Minister of India paid his homage by visiting the Anandilal Podar Statue Circle at Nawalgarh.

1974

Shri Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, President of India, specially visited Bombay to be the Chief Guest at Centenary Function on the very birthday of the founder, Shri Anandilal Podar.

1974

Government of Maharashtra appointed Shri Kantikumar, the Second Podar and youngest person as Sheriff of Bombay.

1976

Shri Ramnath has been conferred the honor of Degree of Doctor of Laws by University of Rajasthan.

1989

In 1989, during the celebration of the 250th anniversary of Nawalgarh, a special recognition “NAWALGARH RATNA” was conferred on DR RAMNATH A. PODAR in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the town and its community.

1991

DR. RAMNATH A. PODAR Founded the “Nawalgarh Devasthan Kosh” a Trust dedicated to celebrate various festivals, have Pravachans and Kirtans at different temples so as to increase religious activities in Nawalgarh.

1996-97

1996-97 marked the birth centenary of Raja Ramdeo, the third Chairman of the Society/Trust. To commemorate the Centenary Year, four functions were organized during the year; two of these were at Nawalgarh, and one function each at Jaipur and Bombay. Sant Shri Morari Bapu, the highly worshipped Saint in India specially visited Nawalgarh.

1997

Dr. K.R. Narayanan, Vice-President of India and later President of India, visited Podar Haveli Museum. Others who also visited the Podar Haveli Museum in Nawalgarh include:

  • Shri Baliram Bhagat, Governor of Rajasthan
  • Shri Sis Ram Ola, Union Minister for Fertilizers and Chemicals
  • Shri Manohar Joshi, Chief Minister of Maharashtra
  • Shri Hari Shankar Bhabhra, Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan
  • Shri Sharad Chandra Pawar, Former Defence Minister of India

1999

Founded in 1999, SMT. GODAVARIBAI RAMDEO PODAR SR. SEC. SCHOOL is a testament to the vision of providing quality education with a global perspective. With a strong commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering holistic development, the school was established by the prestigious PODAR EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS.

2001

The Municipal Corporation, Bombay, has christened a prominent location in South Bombay as “Ramnath Podar Chowk” (2001).

2004

Established in 2004, Seth G.B. Podar Teachers Training College holds a significant place in the realm of teacher education.

2006

Established in 2006, Smt. Snehalata K. Podar Tiny Toddler School is a cherished addition to the Podar EducationAL INSTITUTIONS. With a profound commitment to early childhood education, the school was named after the esteemed philanthropist Smt. Snehalata K. Podar.

2018

received recognition from Hon. Prime Minister SHRI. Narendra Modi for our outstanding contribution to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan (Clean India Campaign). This prestigious acknowledgment reflects our commitment to creating a cleaner and greener nation, and it inspires us to continue our efforts towards building a sustainable and cleaner environment.

2020

we embarked on a significant expansion of our Podar GPS School, aimed at enhancing the educational experience we offer to our students. This endeavor included the establishment of state-of-the-art laboratories, the introduction of an Atal Tinkering Lab, and the addition of an entirely new infrastructure.

2022

In a significant step towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, our TRUST proudly inaugurated its KANTIKUMAR R. PODAR Incubation Center in 2022. This center serves as a dynamic hub for nurturing creative ideas and turning them into impactful ventures.

2023

Introduced a New Era of Education: Smart Classes, Interactive Boards, and Digitized Teaching at Podar GPS, And PODAR GPS was FIRST SCHOOL IN NAWALGARH to do so.

2023

Seth G.B. Podar College accredited with NAAC  ‘A’ grade. This prestigious recognition is a testament to the college’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching practices, and holistic development of its students.
